Once paired with the correct SpotView app version, you’ll see two new options in the meter settings:

1. Auto Average

   When enabled, the meter introduces a short delay after insertion into the ground. This delay allows the meter to stabilize the reading before activating the colored LEDs. The stabilized reading is then added to the LCD’s average display.

   1. VWC, EC, and Temp readings are averaged.

   2. To reset the average, simply power the meter off and back on

   3. This feature operates independently of the app.

2. Auto Save

   When enabled, the stabilized reading is automatically saved to the SpotView app when the meter is withdrawn from the ground.

   1. The app must be open and the phone screen active (SpotView disables screen sleep to support this).

   2.  A vibration confirms the reading has been saved.

   3. Functionally, this is equivalent to manually tapping “Save Reading” in the app.

Feature Flexibility
These features can be used individually or together. If both are disabled, the meter will behave like the current production version—LEDs will activate immediately upon insertion.

Reading Stability Tip
If you suspect the meter hit a rock or hollow spot, you can remove it before the LEDs activate to avoid saving or averaging an unstable reading. These conditions typically delay LED activation, making it easy to detect and correct.
